- Ministry of Education & Higher Education Palestine (MOEHE)
- Palestinian Union of Precious Metals
- Qawasmi Jewellery Company - Hebron
The objective of this cooperation project is to further develop the current jewellery training “Jewellery Diploma” at Dar al-Kalima University College of Arts & Culture towards a training that is more oriented towards the needs of the job market.
The project cooperation focuses on an increase of the employability of DAK graduates in the jewellery sector, to secure jobs in the jewellery sector and to develop the independence of graduates (entrepreneurship).
Jewellery making has a long tradition in Palestine, especially in Hebron.
The training is to be “dualised” through close cooperation with companies in the region. Together with experts from schools in Baden-Württemberg, a curriculum was developed that provides for a stronger practical orientation and the implementation of which enables action-oriented didactics.
A market analysis that was carried out in cooperation with the Palestinian Union of Precious Metals and the Qawasmi Jewellery Company served as the basis for developing the curriculum.
The teachers of the Dar al-Kalima University College of Arts & Culture were trained as preparation and during the implementation of the new curriculum regularly by Baden-Württemberg teachers in terms of subject matter and didactics in Palestine and in Baden-Württemberg.
In addition, a school partnership was established with student and teacher exchanges. The project is planned to conclude with a national jewellery exhibition and career fair in 2021.
The involved project school in Baden-Württemberg is the Goldschmiede mit Uhrmacherschule Pforzheim (goldsmith with watchmaking).
